Solemnizing marriages: We can perform civil ceremonies, which do not involve religious connotations. Fully registered with Saskatchewan Justice under the Marriage Act.
Ensuring legal proof: Marriages performed in Saskatchewan must be registered to establish legal proof of the marriage. Without registration, couples cannot obtain a marriage certificate.
Providing marriage certificates: After a marriage ceremony, the commissioner must provide the couple with a marriage certificate.
Meeting legal requirements: A marriage commissioner cannot perform a marriage if they believe the requirements have not been met or if there is a legal impediment to the marriage.
